Control who joins

Decide how players get on your roster: they register themselves, they ask and you approve, or you add everyone. Quick tournaments also stay off search until you say so.

  1. 1

    Choose who adds players

Open your event and press Edit. Under Who adds players, pick Players register themselves (the default: a Register button), Players request, you approve, or Only you add players (no Register button; you add players to the divisions yourself). Press save.

Players already registered or on the waitlist keep their spot when you switch.

  2. 2

    Approve requests

With approval on, players see Request a spot: they pick divisions and can leave a note. You get an email for each new request, and the event page shows Requests to review with Approve and Decline. Approved players on a free event are in right away; on a priced event their spot is held and they are asked to pay. Declined players get a polite email.

A pending request never takes a spot, never counts toward your capacity, and never shows up on check-in.

  3. 3

Quick tournaments: private until you share

A new quick tournament is Unlisted: anyone with the link can follow it, but it is not on Google or our sitemap. Tick List publicly when you create it, or press the Unlisted pill on the tournament page later to make it Public.

  4. 4

Let players join a quick tournament

When you create it, tick Let players join with the link, and also Approve each player first if you want to vet them. Later, change it from the Who adds players menu on the tournament page. Players see Join or Request to join until you start the tournament. Team formats (Fixed Doubles, MLP, Team Draft) stay organizer-only because you build the teams.

Players who connected DUPR join with their DUPR rating and ID, so results can go to DUPR.

  5. 5

    No account needed for players

Signed-out visitors can register with just their name and email. They get a Confirm your spot email; the link signs them in and they press Confirm my spot. Approval, capacity, DUPR and payment rules all still apply, and paid events continue to checkout.
